Tikal translates to 'the city of sounds.' the echoes are unbelievable!
i spent the night here in central americas largest mayan ruin location with over 4000 monuments/ruins. breathtaking.... the scope of the ruins here! tucked in a rainforest covering over 500 square kilometers. huge! howling monkeys screaming everywhere, playing in the trees. giant beetles and spiders. toucans and parrots, wild turkeys, these anteater looking raccoon like things *cant remember name and much more.
ive enjoyed it......

apacolypto....decapitating temple. which was never used for anything like that... the locals say. hollywood.
woke up at 4:30 and climbed one of the towers hoping to see the sunrise over some temples. the clouds had a different planit was still cool though, silent and mystical with only the loud roars of the howling monkeys.
