DAKAR

for the first time since paris-dakar rally started its being held outside of africa here in argentina/chile. recognized as the most dangerous race in the world where only 40% of the racers finish in this 2 week mad-max roadshow covering 6ooo or so miles thru all types of terrain at white knuckle speeds....starting in BA going down over to patagonia chile and making a loop back to BA. 230ish bikes, 30 fourwheelers, 200ish cars, 100ish trucks and following behind are 300 support vehicles, thousnds of crew members and probably as many journalists.
the buzz is electric with 500,000 fans storming the streets for the pre-race and start activities.

huge roads closed down, music blasting and one spazzed argentina dakar fan
its mad energy easy to get wrapped up in and couldnt have been a better pre-finish attending event to the nearing end of this trip....lovin every second...hoping to see them on the dirt

support vehicles like unstoppble moon trucks

bummed that i missed the start of the motorcycles due to 2hour late schedule list i had.....so did video of my own dakar start on super wide 8am almost empty street....

Seeing the S.A. Dakar in person must be so cool! Sounds like you found the oil pressure sensor and the oil leak is resolved, too. 2009 is shining on you already.

So I am assuming you planned all along to be there for this race? I've never even heard of Dakar. You'll have to fill me in one of these days. Another thing, I hope as I keep reading this, I eventually get to see you in some of these videos! - E
